Going to dinner and listen to a bad with some friends this evening. Just my cup of tea. I love checking out new bands. This one is called Teacherz Pet. I believe they play older rock and roll. Right up my alley. I need something up beat after a gloomy day with this weather. Looking forward to Easter with the family tomorrow morning. It will probably be another Adelle day.

Typically, I only listen to a live band when it is playing at a festival such as the Irish Fest or at a wedding reception. Music is such an integral part of our family life that I am surprised that we do not attend more live concerts. My hubby loves jazz and played the trombone through high school. My daughter is a percussion student in junior high and I sing with my praise band at church. I think we need to expand our horizons and consider attending more live concerts. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteGoing to a concert and actually being there can be such a rewarding experience if you can really feel the emotions of the song from the performer.
DeleteWe were just talking about Teacherz Pet yesterday, some friends were going to listen to them in Liberty last night, but I didn't go. You will have to let us know if they were good. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteI thought that they were playing Saturday evening but they played on Friday. I have heard that they are good. Instead we heard a band by the name of Vandelyn Kross. They play everything that my age group grew up on. It was terrific! I happened to have gone to school with a couple of the band members so that made it even more fun. It was like a school reunion seeing everyone that showed up to see them play.

DeleteI have not heard of Teacherz Pet, but I ma an Adele fan. She has the most wonderful voice! Going to do Yoga with some soft native american flute music!!

DeleteNow that is a genre I never heard of Helen. Native American flute music??? Can't say that is even on my top 40, LOL. So is Teachers Pet a cover band and how often to you go out to listen to live bands?
ReplyDeleteTeacherz Pet was the only band playing that night. I try to get together with friends at least once a month to hear live music. My buddies from high school have a band called Vandelyn Kross that is just amazing and we saw them instead, on Saturday evening. I love going to the Phoenix at 9th and Central to hear some jazz too. It is a small intimate place and the food is great too.
DeleteThe Phoenix is a great place for jazz, when I lived downtown visited the location often. I now live out in Leawood & OP area(119th & Nall area), do you know of any good places in that area to see live bands on the weekend or during the week?

DeleteI love a good jazz set. I keep a little soft music to listen to in my car on the drive home from work sometimes. Its very relaxing after a rough work week. Hope you had a good time!
ReplyDeleteThat is so true. It is a great way to wind down. It seems like our time in our cars is our down time doesn't it? I try to enjoy every minute myself.
DeleteI usually don't go to clubs; however, I-tunes is great for getting a mix of all your favorite music. I love Sirius XM too because you get to switch it up and it's such a great variety of music genre.
ReplyDeleteI have heard that it is great. I don't have it myself but have thought about trying it sometime. I have a lot of friends that enjoy music as well. That is really the only way that we can get together is at a club with great tunes.
